FALL,
that amazing time of year with pumpkin spice, fall festivals, sweaters and crisp, clear skies. Thoughts turn toward memories of days gone by, some good hard. We recall faces and gatherings and sweet memories of those who have gone on. We miss their words, their arms, their encouragement spoken into our lives. Other memories pop up as well. Of holidays missed, cruel or selfish acts that still cause us grief and pain.

So… what do we, as followers of Christ do in these moments?
Do we push past them and keep moving? Do we grieve all over again, or stir up old frustrations? Is it even okay to feel these emotions of sorrow, loss, grief, anger, loneliness or pain?

Remembering is important to life. It’s how we chose to approach those mememories that matters.
Remembering past mistakes can help up make better choices moving forward.
Remembering those we’ve lost must be in context of the positive moments and footprints they’ve left in our lives to make us who we are.
Remembering memories of fun family gatherings can help us recreate them.

But there is more to nostalgia or remembrance…
When we remember the wounds individuals have inflicted on us, we much choose to remember the forgiveness given them at the cross.
When we remember the hurt of lies or rejection, we much choose to remember truth of Who actually Sees us and knows the truth.
When we remember rejection, we must remember that we are wholly and truly loved by the One who made us.
WE ARE NEVER ALONE. WE ARE LOVED. WE ARE CHERISHED.

AND THEN… WE ACT. We SOAR & CREATE NEW MOMENTS
